RSGB DX Contest

The RSGB DX Contest is a development of a long established series of HF contests on 21 and 28 MHz which are now expanded to include 3.5, 7 and 14MHz to accommodate periods of poor propagation on the higher bands. This contest is always an excellent opportunity for UK&CD stations to have DX QSOs and for non-UK stations to work United Kingdom and Crown Dependencies (UK&CD) stations on multiple bands and modes.

UK/EI DX SSB Contest

Bands: 80, 40, 20, 15, 10m.

Classes: Single Op Unconnected (24/12)(QRP/Low/High), Single Op Connected (24/12)(QRP/Low/High), Multi-Single (QRP/Low/High).

Max power: HP: >100W, LP: 100W, QRP: 5W.

Exchange: UK/EI: RS + Serial No. + District Code, DX: RS + Serial No.

QSO and Bonus Points: See website.

Multipliers: Each DXCC country once per band, Each UK/EI district once per band.

Score Calculation: Total score = total QSO points x total multipliers.

Feld Hell Sprint

Bands: 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, 10, 6m.

Classes: NA QRP, DX QRP, NA QRO, DX QRO, SWL.

Max power: QRO: 100 watts, QRP: 5 watts.

Exchange: RST, FH #, QTH, GRID.

Work stations: Once per band.

QSO Points: 3 qso points for each member QSO, 1 qso point for a non-member QSO.

Bonus Points: 2 extra qso points for each qrp contact.

Multipliers: Countries worked in North, Central and South America.

Score Calculation: Total score = (QSO Points X Multipliers) + Bonus Points.

A series of short evening contests on 3.5MHz, promoting competition between Affiliated Societies. Individual scores in every event count towards a Society’s overall score. A rolling listing is maintained on the Contest Committee HF Contests web page.

UKEICC 80m CW Contest

Classes: Single Op Connected (High/Low/QRP), Single Op Unconnected (High/Low/QRP).

Max power: HP: 1500 watts, LP: 100 watts, QRP: 5 watts.

Exchange: 4-Character grid square.

QSO Points: 1 point per 500 km, multiply QSO points by 2 if low power station, multiply QSO points by 4 if QRP station. Multipliers: (none).

Score Calculation: Total score = total QSO points.

CQ Worldwide RTTY DX Contest

Bands: 80, 40, 20, 15, 10m

Classes: Single Op All Band (High/Low/QRP)(Regular/Classic/Rookie), Single Op Single Band (High/Low/QRP), (Regular/Classic/Rookie), Single Op Assisted All Band (High/Low/QRP)(Regular/Rookie), Single Op Assisted Single Band (High/Low/QRP)(Regular/Rookie), Multi-Single, Multi-Two, Multi-Unlimited.

Max power: HP: 1500 watts, LP: 100 watts, QRP: 5 watts.

Exchange: 48 States/Canada: RST + CQ Zone + (state/VE area). All Others: RST + CQ Zone

Work stations: Once per band

QSO Points: 1 point per QSO with same country, 2 points per QSO with same continent, 3 points per QSO with different continent.

Multipliers: Each US state/VE area once per band, each DXCC/WAE country once per band, each CQ zone once per band.

Score Calculation: Total score = total QSO points x total multipliers.

AGCW CW VHF/UHF Contest

Classes: Single Op.

1400-1700 UTC on 2m and
from 1700 to 1800 UTC on 70cm.

Max power: A: 5W, B: 5-50W, C: >50W.

Exchange: RST + “/” + Serial No. + “/” Power class + “/” + 6-character grid locator.

Work stations: Once per band.

QSO Points: 1 point per km per QSO. Multipliers: (none).

Score Calculation: Total score = total QSO points.

World Radiosport Team Championship Sanctioning Committee Looking Ahead to WRTC 2022

As preparations are under way for the next World Radiosport Team Championship event — WRTC 2018 in Germany next July — the WRTC Sanctioning Committee is already looking ahead to potential locations for WRTC 2022. The committee is responsible for evaluating requests to host a WRTC event and selecting the winning applicant. It’s hoping to announce the host for WRTC 2022 at the WRTC 2018 closing ceremonies next summer.
